A Community Conscious Opticians
At Valli Opticians we have a social responsibility to the communities in which we serve. We are involved in many community projects and charities and every practice has a chosen local charity they actively support.
Our directors Moin & Rachel Valli are very active within their local communities and are passionate about the projects they work with. Moin Valli is a trustee for local vision loss charity Kirklees Visual Impairment Network (KVIN) which is a user led charity that aims to help those living with blindness or visual impairment by using technology to enhance their daily lives.
Rachel Valli is involved with the local homeless initiative, the Huddersfield Change Project, providing on street support to those who find themselves living on the streets of Huddersfield. Rachel goes out weekly to help with the street kitchen and also provides administrative support too. Valli Opticians Lockwood and Meltham are also local drop off points for donations.
Valli Opticians also support the Forget Me Not Childrens Hospice and have taken part in many fundraising events to support this great local charity including the Forget Me Not 500 challenge and the Valli Rally walk.
In addition to supporting our local communities, all of our branches support Vision Aid Overseas by collecting old unwanted spectacles for reuse abroad. Vision Aid Overseas is an international charity dedicated to fighting poverty by transforming access to eye care in developing countries. 670 million people – 10% of the world’s population – are disadvantaged by poor vision and a lack of spectacles.
